There is a clear salary step pay scale, which is awarded by total number of years teaching. New teachers, however, can only max out at 10–so they begin with the salary of someone with only ten years of service. Currently the school is going through an important compensation review as pay has not increased to match inflation or cost of living increases in Zurich. This new compensation plan will not be implemented until (maybe) 26/27 school year.
