Additional Notes

City is small and theres not much to do but its safe. There are two cities near by with things to do. The current principal ( Chris ) but HR department lies and is unhelpful. Theres no expat liaison. The school has no AC. Internet is trouble so using tech in your lessons is impossible. Teacher computers are dated and barely work especially with terrible wifi in the few minutes you get to plan. Theres no translation help for doctor appointments or help at all for other things like finding resources or how to pay bills. Communication between admin and faculty/staff is non-existent. Parents/families run the school. Fun is the priority for students here not academics. Parents complain if you don't give their student good grades. The literacy and english level of the students is 1-2 grades below where it should be. Work day is early and long 6:30 am to 3:30pm / 4:00 on Wednesday's = 45 hours per week. Apartments are provided but some are better than others. Most teachers are placed right next to the school which is incredibly loud. The school without telling teachers took part of their salary and switched it to a grocery card without asking teachers their opinion. groceries are cheap but other things are not like clothing, apartment supplies like pots and pans etc. School offers all these apartment appliances for when you move in but its all used, worthless and plastic. This school is great for people who need a place to go to build their resume like if its their first time overseas. There's like no quiet teacher work places to eat lunch or work. Lunch can be subscribed to for cheap but you eat outside with flies, heat and loud children. The line to get lunch is extremely long and you waster your eating time standing in it. The lunch ladies are rude and don't let the teachers bring their food else where. Good luck trying to take out an apple. Administration is strict on arrival time even if youre one minute late. I could go on but don't come here unless you have no other choose. The contract says they provide spanish classes from "the language institute" which is actually just the school and they hire one of the teachers who doesn't know what they are doing. We haven't had spanish classes all year.
